깊은 바다는 자신의 바닥을 쉽게 드러내지 않는다. 빛이 닿지 않는 곳에는 보이지 않는 흐름이 존재하고, 그 아래에는 오랜 시간 침전된 기억과 감정들이 가라앉아 있다. 이 작품은 수없이 반복된 점의 축적으로 이루어졌다. 하나의 점은 미미하지만, 그 작은 흔적들이 겹겹이 쌓이며 거대한 물결의 형상을 만들어낸다. 화면을 가로지르는 검은 파도는 단순한 자연의 풍경이 아니라 시간과 감정이 응축된 내면의 지형이다. 작품을 제작하던 당시, 설명하기 어려운 어둡고 거대한 물결의 이미지가 떠올랐다. 그것은 실제 재난의 모습이라기보다 인간의 내면을 흔드는 보이지 않는 파도에 가까웠다. 삶 속에서 마주하는 상실과 두려움, 상처와 고독은 때때로 거대한 물결이 되어 우리를 깊은 곳으로 끌어당긴다. 그러나 심연은 파괴의 공간만은 아니다. 어둠은 때로 자신을 마주하게 하고, 침묵은 내면의 목소리를 들려준다. 깊이를 통과한 바다는 이전과 같은 바다가 아니듯, 인간 또한 자신의 심연을 지나며 더욱 넓고 깊은 존재로 변화한다. 《쓰나미: 심연》은 모든 것을 무너뜨리는 파도에 대한 이야기가 아니라, 그 파도 아래 존재하는 깊이와 침묵, 그리고 그 시간을 통과하며 다시 빛을 향해 나아가는 인간의 내면에 관한 기록이다. The deep sea rarely reveals its bottom. Beneath the surface, beyond the reach of light, unseen currents move quietly. There, memories and emotions accumulated over time settle into the depths like sediment. This work is composed of countless dots layered repeatedly across the surface. Each individual mark is small and almost insignificant, yet together they form the image of a vast wave. The dark surge stretching across the composition is not merely a seascape; it is an inner landscape shaped by time, memory, and emotion. While creating this work, an image of a dark and immense wave emerged in my mind. It was not the image of a physical disaster, but rather an invisible force capable of stirring the depths of the human psyche. Loss, fear, wounds, and solitude often arrive like overwhelming tides, pulling us toward places within ourselves that we rarely dare to confront. Yet the abyss is not solely a place of destruction. Darkness can become a space for self-reflection, and silence can reveal the voices hidden within. Just as the sea is transformed by its depths, we too are changed by the experiences that lead us through our own inner abyss. *Tsunami: Abyss* is not a story about a wave that destroys everything in its path. Rather, it is a reflection on the depth and silence that exist beneath the wave, and on the human journey of moving through darkness toward light once again.
