[ENG SUB] 작은 화면 안에 강원도 태백 검룡소의 한 부분이 가까이 당겨져 있다. 물줄기 전체를 보여주기보다, 바위 옆으로 스며드는 물과 그 위를 덮은 나뭇잎, 이끼, 흙의 결에 시선이 머문다. 초록과 갈색의 짧은 점과 얼룩, 겹쳐진 붓질들이 모여 축축한 흙과 이끼 낀 바위, 그리고 그 사이로 번지는 물빛을 동시에 감각하게 만든다. 수채 특유의 번짐과 투명한 겹침은 물이 흐르며 남긴 흔적과 그 위에 쌓인 시간의 층위를 드러낸다. 위쪽에서 화면을 가로지르는 가지와 잎들은 강한 윤곽 대신 빛에 녹아드는 색의 변화로 표현된다. 노랑과 연두, 짙은 초록이 한 잎 안에서 미세하게 갈라지며 숲속 햇살과 그늘의 떨림을 따라간다. 선명한 형태보다 잎과 물, 바위가 서로의 색을 반사하며 섞이는 순간에 집중하면서, 장소의 정확한 형태보다 그곳의 공기와 습도, 냄새에 가까운 감각이 먼저 다가온다. 이 작품에서 검룡소는 웅장한 풍경이 아니라 몸을 낮추어야만 보이는 작은 국면으로 나타난다. 물소리와 바람, 나뭇잎의 그림자가 점과 얼룩으로 환원되며, 관람자는 어느새 화면 속 바위 가장자리에 서서 아래를 내려다보는 위치에 서게 된다. 작가 소장 A small fragment of Geomryongso in Taebaek, Gangwon-do is drawn close within the frame. Rather than presenting the entire stream, the painting focuses on water seeping beside rocks, covered with leaves, moss, and damp earth. Short touches of green and brown, layered washes, and scattered marks evoke the sensation of wet soil, mossy stone, and the faint shimmer of water moving through them. The branches and leaves crossing the upper part of the image are suggested through subtle shifts of color rather than firm outlines. Yellow, light green, and deep green divide gently within a single leaf, following the trembling light and shadow of the forest. Instead of defining the exact form of the place, the painting dwells on the moment when leaves, water, and stone reflect and blend into each other.
