[ENG SUB] 〈볕뉘〉는 작가의 파도 연작에서 파생된 색과 인식의 관계를 탐구한 작품으로, 색의 이동을 통해 풍경이 감각의 상태로 전환되는 과정을 응축해 보여준다. ‘볕뉘’는 작은 틈을 통해 잠시 스며드는 햇볕을 의미한다. 작가는 이 미세한 빛을, 자신이 놓인 자리에서 점진적으로 성장하는 생명 존재의 이유이자 지속의 조건으로 바라본다. 화면 속 점묘의 붓질은 생명의 씨가 뿌려지는 과정이며, 나뭇잎 사이로 스며드는 빛의 틈은 흰 여백으로 남겨져 보이지 않는 에너지의 통로를 형성한다. 잎의 색은 녹색 대신 파도의 파란색으로 치환되어, 대상은 사물의 재현을 넘어 감각의 흐름으로 이동하고 화면은 특정 풍경이 아닌 하나의 ‘상태’로 머문다. 이 작업에서 파란색은 자연을 묘사하는 색이 아니라, 작가가 지속적으로 사용해 온 ‘흐름과 생명 에너지의 색’으로 기능한다. 〈볕뉘〉는 작가의 한 시기를 응축해 보여주는 작품으로, 색과 생명에 대한 인식이 본격적으로 구축되기 시작한 지점을 드러낸다. 이후 전개되는 작업 세계 전반에서 반복되는 감각의 구조와 조형적 태도가 이 화면에서 처음 뚜렷해지며, 작가 언어의 방향을 제시하는 중요한 이정표로 자리한다. 〈Flecks of Sunlight〉 is a work that explores the relationship between color and perception, derived from the artist’s ongoing wave series. The artist regards this subtle light as both the reason for life and the condition for its continuation — a force that allows living beings to grow gradually within the place they inhabit. The pointillist brushstrokes suggest the scattering of life’s seeds across the surface, while the gaps of light filtering between leaves are left as white spaces, forming invisible passages of energy. The color of the leaves is translated from green into the blue of waves, allowing the subject to move beyond representation and toward a flow of sensation. As a result, the image remains not as a depiction of a specific landscape, but as a single sustained state.
