[ENG SUB] "점과 선, 생명이 흐르고 희망이 이어지다" 점 하나에서 시작된 파동이, 기억과 시간을 지나 바다에 닿는다. 어린 시절, 해운대와 광안리 앞바다가 보이는 부산에서 자랐다. 가족과 함께 자주 찾았던 달맞이 고개 인근의 문학관에서, 책을 읽으며 창 너머로 바라보던 모래사장과 파도, 물결의 기억은 지금까지도 내 안에 선명하게 남아 있다. 바다는 어린 시절의 추억을 품은 동시에 내면세계를 투영하는 매개체다. 끊임없이 밀려오고 흩어지는 파도는 희망과 미래를 향해 열린 마음의 상징이며, 마음속 파도의 이미지와 색감은 화면 위에서 자연스럽게 드러난다. 이러한 바다의 기억은 몇 년 전 여름, 어머니와 함께 떠났던 해금강 풍경과 겹쳐지며 확장되었다. 〈해금강 물마루〉는 그때의 감각을 기억 속 이미지로 형상화한 작품이다. 물방울 하나에서 출발해 냇물과 강을 이루고 마침내 바다에 닿는 이 흐름을, 점 하나에서 시작해 화면 위로 확장해 나갔다. 반복되는 수채화 점묘의 붓질을 통해 생명의 움직임과 시간의 리듬, 물마루 위에 스치는 바람의 감각을 담아냈다. 보이지 않는 감정과 기억의 결을 색과 형으로 치환해 하나의 조형 언어로 풀어내며, 화면 전체에는 음악처럼 리듬감 있게 흐르는 바람과 파도의 율동이 머문다. 본 작품은 작가의 작업 세계를 이해하는 핵심 기준작으로, 이후 연작의 방향성과 조형 언어를 가늠할 수 있는 지점에 위치한다. 이 작품은 2011년 현대자동차 사보 표지로 선정되어 게재된 바 있다. Dots and Lines—Where Life Flows and Hope Continues A wave that begins from a single dot travels through memory and time, eventually reaching the sea. I grew up in Busan, with the sea of Haeundae and Gwangalli always within view. As a child, I often visited a small literary museum near Dalmaji Hill with my family. Sitting by the window with a book in hand, I would watch the white shoreline, the waves, and the shifting surface of the water. Those moments remain vivid within me. The sea holds my childhood memories, while also serving as a medium through which my inner landscape is reflected. Waves that continuously approach and disperse symbolize an open mind moving toward hope and the future. The images and colors of these inner waves naturally emerge on the surface of my paintings. These memories of the sea expanded a few years ago, overlapping with a summer journey to Haegumgang with my mother. Haegumgang: Water’s Crest gives form to those sensations, transformed into images drawn from memory. Beginning with a single drop of water that becomes a stream, a river, and eventually reaches the sea, I approached this flow through a single dot—allowing it to expand across the surface. Through repeated, rhythmic gestures of watercolor dotting, I sought to capture the movement of life, the rhythm of time, and the subtle sensation of wind brushing across the water’s crest. Invisible emotions and the textures of memory are translated into color and form, unfolding into a singular visual language. Across the surface, the rhythm of wind and waves lingers—flowing like music. This work serves as a key reference point in understanding the artist’s practice, marking a defining moment in the development of her visual language.
